..more Tums..

Thursday

Breakfast:
What: Bowl of Special K Red Berries with vanilla soy milk, Pre-natal vitamin, omeprazole
When/where: 8:30; at home.
Why: Cereal is easy in the morning. I can walk around with it. I like bagels, too, but the get cold if I have to stop to do something else. Special K ‘cause it’s the right amount of sweet.

Late a.m. snack:
What: Emerald Breakfast on-the-go! 1.5 oz. (trail mix/granola-type snack), 12 oz. water
When: after CSCL lecture, 11:30
Where: in the veteran’s Transition Center (VTC) on campus
Why: because the parasite inside me said it’s time for a snack

Lunch:
What: Small meatless pasta bowl, cibatta roll, 12 oz. water
When: around 12:30. I was going out to eat with a friend and we both had a long break in schedule.
Where: Noodles & Co.
Why:
1.) I knew they had a veggie option I like and my friend was sick of sandwiches.
2.) The MAIN reason was that I wanted to get out. It was a nice day, no ice on sidewalks. I really wanted the walk because I have had little opportunity to walk outside safely this winter.
3.) I wanted a hot lunch (not sandwich, salad..)
I usually bag lunch for $$ reasons, but I just got paid and had only eaten lunch out twice this semester. My friend and I had light homework loads, so it was nice to take our time and not rush. It was a “treat” for all these reasons.

After lunch:
What: 12 oz. Cherry Coke
When: immediately after returning from lunch, 1:30
Where: VTC
Why:
1.) I crave sugar after meals (only since pregnancy)
2.)I was tired and wanted caffeine
(Note: before pregnancy, I hadn’t touched sugar pop or caffeine drinks for over 3 years)

p.m. snack:
What: Ritz crackers with cheddar cheese, at least 2 glasses of water, a few oz. leftover Vitamin Water XXX, ¼ leftover chocolate-cherry malt from Annie’s Parlour, 4 xtra-strength Tums
When/where: I got home from running errands, about 4:30p.m.
Why: time to snack, wanted to use leftovers. Malt was because I crave sugar after eating (pregnancy)

At least 2 glasses more water throughout the evening… more Tums…

Dinner:
What: 2 cuties, butternut squash ravioli frozen dinner, 1 cup steamed veggies, 2+ glasses of water
When/where: 8:30, home
Why: My husband had plans, so I was eating alone. Wasn’t hungry, but OB says I have to eat at regular meal times even if I am not hungry.

After dinner:
2 swigs of dark chocolate almond milk because I crave chocolate after meals!

Bedtime :
Slow Fe iron supplement because I am anemic

Middle of the night:
What: peanut butter and chocolate sandwich on wheat bread, glass of water
When: after midnight sometime
Why: don’t judge me

Friday

Breakfast:
What: 2 bowls multigrain Cheerios with banana sliced on top and vanilla soy milk, pre-natal vitamin, omeprazole.
Where/when: home; 9:30
Why: easy, fast, tastes good.

Lunch:
What: Fresh fruit pieces, 5 slices of Papa John’s extra cheese pizza with evil garlic butter, 1.5 cans Cherry Coke, 8 oz. water
Where/when: VTC, 12:00
Why: Because it was free.

Several glasses of water throughout the afternoon..

Dinner:
What: cheese, crackers, blueberries, with cream cheese. 4 glasses of water, strawberry cupcake
Where/when: home; 7:30
Why: because it was easy and available and I wasn’t hungry enough for a full meal.

Evening snack:
What: 4 cuties
Where/when: home; 10:00
Why: they are cheap, taste great, and have vitamin C (many sick people around me lately.)

Bedtime:
Slow Fe iron supplement because I am anemic

Saturday

Breakfast:
What: 1 bowl multigrain cheerios with blueberries and banana on top and vanilla soy milk, pre-natal vitamin, omeprazole
Where/when: at home; 9:00
Why: tastes great, fast, easy

Water throughout the late morning

Lunch:
What: Potbelly’s Big Vegetarian sandwich with lettuce onion, extra mushrooms and hot peppers. Two slices of cake. 2 cans of Cherry Coke. Copious amounts of water.
Where: on campus VTC, at my baby shower
When: 12:30-1:30 or more for the eating part
Why: This meal was planned by my hostesses. I got to choose the delivery, and I chose Potbelly because they have hot sandwiches and (unlike pizza) everyone can get different things.

Four Tums at 6:00

Two glasses of water

Dinner:
What: Broccoli in garlic sauce, water
Where: Canton Garden Restaurant
When: after John got home from work, 7:20
Why: we were both too exhausted to cook; I wanted something with vegetables and no dairy; it’s close to home and it was getting close to closing time for other places

Four more Tums at 8:45

Bedtime snack:
What: Peanut butter and chocolate sandwich on wheat; water
Where/when: home; 11:30
Why: I wasn’t super hungry, but I knew I would wake up hungry in the next 2 hours. Best to preemptively strike

Bedtime :
Slow Fe iron supplement because I am anemic
